I could have done without yesterday – I really could have. I made an appointment to have our van looked at since it had a problem since day one, and they said they’d take care of it for me, and pushing for no charge on it (this is from the sales guys that I never have had a problem with – outside the one, see last entry). I make an appointment to have it done on Friday (yesterday), and I drop it off in the morning to have it done. Gave them the keys, and assumed it would be done by close-of-business that day, right?
Well, that’s that I THOUGHT anyways. I walked around the area since I didn’t have any cashola for the bus – 4 hours later and it hasn’t even gotten IN THE GARAGE yet! It’s still in the back lot. The sales dude offers me a ride home so I can grab something to eat while waiting for the shop to do their magic (we’re thinking overheating fuel pump cutting out intermittently). I call back at 4:30pm (shop closes at 5:00), and they STILL are “looking at it”. OK…one would think that any reputable shop would have had parts going into it already, but noooo….not these clowns. I call up the shop and they say “Oh, it’ll probably be Tuesday or Wednesday before it’ll be done”. I’m thinking *I don’t THINK SO!*, so I have them bring it back out so I can pick it up. I’ll deal with it for another week until my days off again – it’s only a minor inconvenience, but these guys in the shop are CLOWNS!
I call the sales guys back up to see if I can get a lift back down to pick it up, and I got this:
“Oh, I’m sorry….the lot guy already left for the day and I don’t have anyone that can come down to give you a ride back”.
*I’m steaming now……* OK….I asked how late the lot was open – 8:00pm (it was 5:00pm now, and the lot is roughly 60 blocks away from my place – halfway across Denver). So….I did the only thing I could think to do….
I walked….the ENTIRE way there. Unbelievalbly enough…I made the entire walk in 1 hour and 15 minutes, arriving at around 6:15pm. Hey….I had to have our vehicle back in order to get to work, you know, and I wasn’t about ready to leave it there overnight anyways. I got it back, went over to Rave’s for some good conversation, and then went home and collapsed into a crumpled heap. I hope today goes much better than that.
