Remember the episode “The Five Doctors”? Well, if you’re a Dr. Who fan of any water, you’ll know what I mean. It almost should have been called “The 4 1/2 Doctors” since my favourite actor, Tom Baker, pulled out of doing the project right before filming. Too bad there’s no way of fixing this one, since you really can’t turn back time and shanghai Tom into doing it……just a wee bit too old these days as well, so can’t digitally edit it either.
Would have been the PERFECT story otherwise……….
Today I did more work with computers, but more that deals with the hardware side. Installing new PC’s is nothing new to me, since I did it before, but it was still well rewarding to be able to be part of a good-sized computer setup team. It gives me more reason to complete my A+ cert now. 🙂
Next up after that…….CCNA! Yay!
I made a little pic for my favorite host, Tommy Tallarico, over at his forum recently
and to my happiness, he replied:
That pic is SWEEEEET!!
I added it to the Fan Art section of the site: http://www.tallarico.com/gallery/Judgment-Day-Fan-Art
Wow….just doesn’t get much better these days. 🙂 Made a really happy start to my day.
I saw this story on CNN the other day, and could only think “sad………truly sad”…..
What is happening to people in this day and age, when coming up with creative excuses has more brainpower to it than trying to better ones-self?
Just pay the fine lady, and move on. You got caught…plain and simple. Move on.
I think it’s time for an outta-state vacation again……time to go back to Denver again! Time to go back and re-catch up on what is going on with the scene down there, do some shopping, and see some good friends again. Perhaps I’ll be able to find some goodies to tide me over til next time I get a chance once again. I know this much………….the ramen shopping is certainly better…that’s for sure!
I really need to learn some more Japanese……yes, I really do. Why? Well, I spent over $7K in college to take a year of it, and then found out there was no more! Only one year! What good is that, when there is no more advanced learning beyond that?
Did I screw up?
Because….I love a challenge!
To me, trying to learn Spanish or French would be too much of a waste of my time since you can learn that easier. I like a language that has both class and style. Japanese is my choice in that vein.
The only hindrance is:
1. I no longer have any other classes TO take in this area. Now…Denver or LA? That wouldn’t be a problem. Here, I’m pretty much screwed.
2. I no longer KNOW anyone here who is from Japan, like I did in college.
This creates a problem.
Now, if anyone knows of some GOOD quality learning resources, please let me know! I wanna soak up all I can.
Because someday I’m going to fulfill another dream of mine. To get plunked down in the middle of Tokyo and get lost – on purpose. I’m kidding! I’ll get my way back….I always do. I just wanna explore, and not just the touristy stuff. I want to know how people REALLY are over there.
Is that a problem? Heh….not from where I’m standing. 🙂
I saw this look this morning, and was immediately enthralled by it:
It makes me think I’ve really lost touch with my creative side, and really need to go back to my roots some more. Perhaps next month on our trip to Denver! We’ll have to see……….
I think that song by the Go-Go’s really brings it all together. Soon I’ll be taking a much-needed vacation, and heading back down to Denver for a few days – get some shopping done, bag some ramen, see a bunch of really cool friends from back in my Denver hey-days, and…….and……..well…..have fun! Yeah…that’s the ticket. I’ve been at my job for almost a year now, and no signs of any burnout! Woo-hoo! I think I’m gonna really have a shot at making a CAREER instead of just a job! Yesssssss! I think the only way I would leave is if something came along that was MUCH better in one of the other places I used to live, so I can’t really discount the possibility of moving on, but I’m in a nice comfortable place right now, and I’m very happy!
This year celebrates TWO milestones if you can believe that. I celebrate being happily hitched for a full decade, and knowing one of my bestest and dearest friends for TWO decades! So this is truly a time of celebration. A time of crossroads and evolutions. If you look back in my archive from the beginning forward, there have been a LOT of changes in my life….new lives coming into focus, growing pains, and jumping in and out of job holes til I found the one that was the perfect fit. I thought I had the perfect career back in Denver, but there were too many political games going on there, and the management never knew how to pull it’s head out of its collective arse. I guess I really can’t complain about much (except occasional lack of sleep, but that goes with the territory), so I am a reasonably happy camper. 🙂
Oh yeah….gotta shop for some “really getting to be freaking rare” Mari Iijima CD’s here soon too! I’m going to try and keep this updated a lot more regularly as well. Wish me luck, and please feel free to comment here if you so wish. I always enjoy the company.
