I guess I can thank systemreactor for telling me that many times, so now it’s part of my everyday verbal melange.
I remember a time when trains used to go through Billings, going to various places shipping passengers as well as freight. Gads, I wish those days were back again. With plane fares being still expensive, and gas prices being truly outrageous for no good reason, I think it would make sense to have rail service once again. Of course, I doubt it’ll happen because we really don’t have any large cities – just one trying desperately to masquerade as civilization.
I think people who are truly unique usually come here, find out what a steaming pile it really is, and then leave again. I don’t blame them…..I really don’t. So why do I stay here? Well, cheap rent, I’m depended on by important people in my life, and I have a job that’s done well for me thus far. I really have no complaints. I’m not living in an apartment, and I’m sure as hell not living in a motel room again – I’m living in a HOUSE. Yes, a rental one admittedly, but a HOUSE. That means no neighbors on the other side of the wall and I pay rent monthly as opposed to weekly (yes, I know motels charge monthly too). The thing I’m really grateful for is that I HAVE found people here I can associate with and relate too, and that is a huge plus in my book.
I am still planning on a trip down to Denver in September so I can experience Nan Desu Kan 2007, but I won’t be spending ALL my time there – just part of it. I’m not sure how many days I’ll be there either, since we have just the one vehicle. Something might come up, but I’m not sure yet – it’s kinda up in the air. The will is strong though! If only it wasn’t so far away *sigh*………. I think that’s why people fly here, in my opinion, although it is cheaper to drive. It’s a give-and-take situation, depending on what you want to do, and how you go about it.
I’m experimenting with selling some stuff on eBay, so we’ll see how well I can attract potential buyers with what I have. So far, I have some people eyeballing what I have, but so far no one has bid. Ah well…..still 5 days left. We’ll see what happens. With all the sniping that goes on, it’s possible that I won’t see any action until the last day anyway. We’ll see!
In another week, it’ll be time to re-dye the ol’ mop once again to keep it nice and DARK, so then I’ll have to see about getting some updated pics done as well, since some of my friends have requested them. See subject line above for this one. One of my friends at my workplace said I should put orange and red streaks through it, and I had to laugh. Come on….eveyone knows blue and purple work out SO much better! LOL.! I did get a new pair of boots to replace the ones I accidentally tore, and these are working out MUCH better. If you’re wondering, yes, they are platforms, but a lot slimmer ones, so they don’t scream PLATFORM as much. Now I just need to find some more awesome tops to go with my whole theme I’m trying to put together. I am still fiddling with the idea of hand-painting and/or making some new shirts, so I should be seeing some results soon enough.
Just more and more things stewing around in the mixing bowl of my life!
