Ah yes….the sounds and smells of summer. Fresh air from outside, green grass (between all the weeds), and the smell of………antifreeze??
Crap….the radiator’s leaking.
Actually, it’s had a slow leak for a little while now, but it’s getting worse, so that means off it goes to the shop to get MORE work done on it. It’s either that, or watch it go ka-flooey when it terminally overheats. I swear, this van has spent more time in the shop for heat-related issues than anything else. At least it’s not the water pump, thank goodness.
I still have to have them chase down a short in my other car, and then it’s off to the junkyard to find interior parts for both in an effort to try and fix them up a little bit. I did find a place in Dallas that does deal in replacement parts, but if I can find them for cheaper, then I’ll go that route. Some kids busted up my center console in my first vehicle trying to get to the stereo, so now I get to go look for that too – dang kids. Oh geez….I sound like my parents did back then. Problem is….with each generation, the destruction is even worse, and more costly.
Guess I should be glad that salvage yards have not yet gone out of style up here.
