I’ll be happy when my vacation comes around…..really really glad.
I think the best thing about some companies is the ability to have paid vacations. Some think they might be frivolous and never take them, but never ever underestimate the power of a well-earned respite from the confines of the office, store, or other form of employment. Some jobs may not wear you out one way, but they surely will in another. Don’t try to fool yourself into thinking you could never get tired of it.
You will, I promise.
It’s really bad when you love what you do, but the constant atmosphere gets to you – the drama….the attitude….the atmosphere….it’ll affect you, and then you just want to run away.
What am I going to do on vacation? Believe it or not, I still haven’t sorted that one out yet. I have people asking me if I’m interested in website projects, but in order to do more, I need more free time, and that’s not gonna happen anytime soon. I have basically narrowed it down to 4 things.
1. 3-4 days in Denver, CO
2. new TV for the bedroom (a nicer one)
3. Wacom graphics tablet
4. XBOX 360
Well, I don’t really need the fourth one, although they don’t make many regular XBOX games anymore, but I think it’s a pretty reasonable list. The first one really depends on if the Soob can handle the trip, so the coin’s in the air on that one in the meantime. The other two can be done easily enough though………
If I do acquire a graphics tablet though, you can bet I’ll be getting some new design work done! It’ll be time to………GET SERIOUS!
I am going to finally get some yardscaping done before winter comes around though – I have to get that done. My landlord is going to whack/dig the bushes out, and then I might get around to getting some stonework done too. I thought about setting up a path to the driveway, and then getting some grass seed and “weed & feed” to get it going some more. I might not get it all done before the snow comes around, but I’m going to get a firm hold on it.
Things are slowly coming into focus. Very VERY slowly…….but they are getting there.
