I guess I should say I’m not quite back at Square One………..close……..but not quite…..
I’ve been in bigger cities, and have had to fight a lot of battles to overcome obstacles in my way -and have reaped some nice rewards, but have also seen my fair share of pitfalls along the way. It sucks starting over time and time again. People get terrified at re-starting a career at 30 – heck, try starting one closer to 40 and see how you feel. It’s not a pleasant feeling, I’ll say that much. I’m feeling comfortable in the career I have now, and really have no major complaints. Yes, there are little issues here and there, but they’re not that bad.
I have been successful at starting up a coffee klatch here, and even though these people don’t stay out as late, it’s still a nice familiar setting to be with friends at, and that makes me quite happy. I’ve learned that not all things are inaccessible – just tougher to obtain than other things. I order my fashion fun stuff online, and to get a Tommy’s chiliburger experience, I have to pay $75 + shipping to have a bucket flown up here in dry ice………but I can have it my way.
People say we’re crazy or dumb for keeping our little ones home, and schooling them, but you know what I say? My kids will be alive and well-educated by the time they are ready to face the world. They won’t have to worry about inept teachers and staff who don’t know how to take charge of a classroom, and they won’t have to worry about people who bring guns and knives to school, and who knows what else. I have so little faith in public schools right now, it’s not even funny. I know….we’ve tried 4 different schools and not ONE has shown any real promise that they know………REALLY know how to educate and take charge. I’m not going to debate this – this is just my opinion. Besides…..it was a homeschool kid that won the last national spelling bee, so there is some validity to it!
I have a new website now, and I’m working on adding to it. I’m also considering what kinds of images I want to add to it in order to give it just that right amount of sparkle. Stay tuned for that one to ShockQueen’s Palace – it’s where it’s at now! I’ve learned how to sell things on eBay, so I’ve been selling off part of my shoe collection for a tidy profit (and getting more to replace it), and some albums and laserdiscs. So far, I think it’s been a cracking success! I may do some more later on even!
So it is getting better……..it’s just the climb takes a tiny bit longer. I think it’ll be worth it.
