My plans are in motion at last. I finally figured out what days to take off and how long I can go without work for – don’t worry – it’s all paid time off. You see, even I need a sanity break once in a while or I just go all gonzo (shut up, I am NOT there already). The extra money I was making doing overtime has been shut down for now, so I’m just readjusting to the new frame of reality – thank goodness I placed my boots order before finding out – love Cloudwalkers boots – especially when on sale. I found that if I’d stayed in California, they actually had Avenue stores out there, but I didn’t know about their selection beforehand, so I guess it’s of little consequence. I do keep wondering what would have happened if I’d have taken that FedEx job while out there though – just another “what if” scenario that I can pile up with the rest – not like I can go back and change things anyway.
I think I need to get one of those jars of nail polish remover that you just dip your finger in and twist across the sponge – I bet that would be much faster than the methods I’m using now, although once I use up what’s in the jar, I can refill it later too, and keep on using it. I guess that’s one habit I’ve kept going that I actually enjoy, along with everything else that I’ve been embellishing my ensemble with. Now if I could just find some appropriately smart androgynous tops to go with everything else, then I can say that I’ve crossed a boundary all the way (well, outerwear-wise anyway).
Then again, I don’t believe in gender boundaries anymore. I’m past all that, and a lot happier as a result. I wish I would have done this about 15-20 years ago, but then again, even back then I was a bit of an adventurous sort, and dared to be different even in those tender years.
I can’t wait to see what’s out there again – I don’t get to leave the state much, so I love the opportunities when they do come…and with the reduction in paycheck size, they may come even more seldom than before. I do want to go to Nan Desu Kan though. I have some good plans for that weekend.
Oh…and I need to hook up my tablet again. I think it’s thinking I’ve abandoned it in favor of something else. Maybe I just need to create again to get my juices flowing. Time to pop in a tape and get started I suppose.
Yes…TAPES. I’m sure you younguns have heard of them. Before then, there were vinyl albums too (which are making a comeback I hear). They make a sweet adapter you can get now to where you can hook up your tape deck via USB and convert your stuff there too – I so need one of those! Of course, I’ll probably need a terabyte hard drive after all that, because I have a metric buttload of old stuff that I could never get rid of, and it needs to be done!
Seems I have a lot of work and preparation ahead of me. It’s okay…..this gal can take it.
