OK…this one is a first for me.
We went on our trip to Denver for our sanity break, and there is this one turn that you have to take when going from Montana to Colorado – the turnoff from I-90 to I-25 at Buffalo. I’ve done this one many times before, but this time, I was battling morning mist, which frosted up the windshield faster than my wipers could keep off, so every once in a while I had to scrape the windows off. During one of these must have been when I missed the turn, because I ended up in Gillette instead of Casper. Of course, this kinda had me perplexed for a bit, so of course, I went to the nearest gas station and asked how to get to Denver from there (yes, I know how to ask for directions).
So I headed down highway 59 from Gillette to Douglas, then stopped for lunch, as that’s past Casper anyway, which would have been my lunchtime stop. I don’t think we lost much time, but it was definitely an interesting new way of getting there. You can’t go as fast on 59 as you can on 25, but it was okay anyway.
I still made it to Denver before the day was done. My week away from home had just begun! Wheeee!
