This seems to be a day and age of the drug – whether it’s over-the-counter, or through your doctor, Dang….they have a drug for every symptom under the sun these days!
I remember a time back when if you were depressed, you changed your life, got a fresh outlook, and improved yourself – now you take a pill to do this.
I also remember a time that if you didn’t like the length of your lashes, you went to the store and bought some cosmetics and learned how to apply it – now you can take a pill to change that too!
But what on Earth is it about schools telling you that your kids need to be medicated before they can be educated??? THIS…..I have a problem with!
WHY? do you ask? BECAUSE! Back when I was in school, we had this thing going around called D.A.R.E. To Keep Kids Off Drugs. Isn’t “medication” a fancy euphemism for DRUGS?? Yes, they say that this dr….errr…medication can cure symptom (x), BUT…..has a list of side effects as long as both arms put together!
States are now banning schools from requiring kids to be medicated, and I’m really hoping that Montana is on that list soon. You should not be required to drug your kids into oblivion before they will work with you. You see case after case after case where parents try this, but it just ends up making the children worse off than before, or sometimes they have permanent damage as a result of something that is supposed to HELP them!
How do these drugs….umm….medications even make it onto the market? Isn’t the FDA supposed to be regulating this stuff? What about the doctor credo of “do no harm”? Isn’t giving a medication that can potentially HARM or KILL “doing harm”? Why do we see these now being put up on commercials with happy music saying that this will be your miracle cure, but then six months later, you start seeing LAWYER commercials saying people have DIED from taking this SAME thing that was on the commercial with the happy music not that long ago?
It’s getting to be where the biggest drug pushers aren’t the guys out on the dark street corners at night – they’re the ones running your children’s school systems. You can label it with any fancy term you want, but medication is just another term for DRUGS. I’m sorry, but if I hear something has even the SLIGHTEST chance of causing permanent harm, including this thing killing the person taking it, it is NOT going into anyone in my family.
How can they even LIST those side effects while playing happy music on the commercial? Are they hoping they don’t listen to the words being spoken? Do they think we are that stupid?
They must – and it’s working. They’re raking in money by the metric buttload off of it! Just like lemmings being led off the cliff. Pretty scary if you ask me.
