There are many times I ask myself who I am. There are some times others ask who I am, or even what I am.
The only for sure answer I can give people is………..that I am human.
I know that’s a label, but I think out of all of the millions of labels we put on ourselves, this is the only really safe one. I mean…….we’re not really anything else BUT human, are we?
I have faith in God, but don’t follow any specific religion. There are many different religions in the world that focus on God, BUT pinning myself to saying “I am (x) religion” wouldn’t be an accurate statement – this has gone on debates many times. It’s a question I have to ask myself from time to time and seek answers from a higher power. I’m not asking for any opinions on this – there are far too many to even go into.
I have style, but yet I don’t seem to follow any ONE style, so I guess it’s just my own unique style, yet has no name to it – just mine. I consider myself artistic and creative in my own way – some seem to like it, while others don’t get it. That’s OK too. This comes from my heart and my soul, and this is part of who I am.
I do know I am friendly, outgoing, have feelings, ambitions, aspirations, but I’m not out to be like any one specific person. I have made friends, some of whom were completely unexpected, yet very much welcomed. I enjoy the company of others, yet I’m not one to go chasing anyone around to share time with. If they are willing, then I enjoy spending time with them – if not, then it’s not meant to be. I have no ill will towards them.
I have fears, doubts, anxieties, but I don’t know of many who haven’t had at least one of those I just mentioned. Those who have achieved true inner peace in their lives – they are truly extraordinary, for they have found themselves and the answers they are looking for. This is what works for them. The answers they found may not fit anyone else, but it did fit them.
I know who I am today. It may not be the person I was yesterday – or the person I am tomorrow, but I know who I am today.
