A while ago, I asked myself this question………..
“What would Jesus do if he came back to Earth and walked among us now, like he did back two millennia ago?”
At first, I thought of several different answers, but after going back and re-reading through parts of the Bible, I came up with a pretty inescapable answer that should have been right in front of my face all along……………
Jesus would do the same thing that was done back in those days – sharing the word and love of God, and being amongst the people – ALL people. After all……..if it ain’t broke, why fix it? If something works, then why change it? Jesus’ way of doing things was very straightforward, even when people couldn’t – or didn’t want to see it. God’s love isn’t all about status, title, or physical wealth – it’s about what’s inside of us – how we live our lives in His eyes that matters.
A good friend of mine tonight reminded me that when it comes to those who have turned away from God – or never sought Him out to begin with, that it’s not up to us to judge those around us. We let them know what is right or wrong, and then let them figure it out from there. It’s not our job to change people – especially if they don’t want to be changed. It’s up to us to live our lives as right as we can. We are not perfect – we aren’t designed to BE perfect. We were designed to learn, to adapt, and to grow.
Yes……we were designed……..in His image. Not like a robot, but a living, breathing being. We were given free will, and the ability to choose our own destiny. It’s up to us what happens after that point. If you need a guide book, the best one around has been around for a very long time. Even after many revisions and translations, the core principles and guiding words are pretty much the same.
Talk to Him. Pray with your heart, and then see what happens.
