There is something to be said about the joy of just having faith.
It doesn’t require any special skills or knowledge – it just comes to you, but you still have to seek it out. Reading back about how Jesus lived, he lived pretty simply – just lived to go out and spread the word of God to let people know about His everlasting love. What he encountered along the way was not the best example of humanity – he was persecuted, hunted, and ultimately killed…….for spreading love and the word of God.
He made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us, so now we have been shown the way. He gave his life for us so that we may live in Him.
Yes, there are many books, chapters, and verses that outline how we should be living our lives, but also not forget that not only should we love God with all our heart, but love each other as He has loved us.
In this day and age, most people find it increasingly difficult to be patient with one another, let alone tolerate or love one another – completely the opposite of what the Bible says. I’m not sure if it’s because we’ve all become caught up in the hype and media that is rampant on the internet and TV, which is shoved in our faces every day, or if it’s due to something else.
I still believe that He has a plan for me, and looking back on my life, it furthers that belief – that faith that He will guide me where I need to be. After all, if it wasn’t for me moving back to where I grew up, along with my family, I wouldn’t have been here when my mother needed me – there was a reason my life was directed the way it was, and I’m very glad that it happened, so I figure I am destined to be where I am until something else happens that changes my circumstances and causes us to be somewhere else.
I am content – I have my faith, my family, and my friends. It seems that’s all that is really needed to be free and happy – and I am that.
