I’m still working on the new version of the site, and it’s coming along OK, so when I get internet connection at home again, I won’t have to worry about clunking about FrontPage 2000 anymore and can use my Dreamweaver again, which is so much easier! I’ll still have this part of the site, but I’ll probably start it over again since this is my test run, or it might be an archive…I haven’t decided yet on this.

OK, I want to know who’s bloody bright idea it was to make ATM’s in this world only dispense $20 bills! Why can’t they make ATM’s spit out anything smaller? It makes life miserable for those people who only have a certain amount in their drawer, someone comes up with some little 15 cent stick of gum and plops down a 20 saying “Sorry, this is the smallest I have.”. Ooooo….I want to take out a nice big BAT here! Go away to a bank and come back with something more manageable!
I think there are days I’d like to disappear into the shadows and just roam around, but there are too many people in my life to do this…which is not bad in of itself. I’ve gotten into reading books again, as well as trying to re-do the graphics for the new site layout. It might be awhile, but hey…it’ll be worth the wait (I hope). I studied archetypes in literature for fantasy writing once, and I think it just might be paying off….now if I could just get rid of this darn writer’s block!
People think they are so smart…they say they are network administrators and the like, and yet cannot figure out why their computer does weird things. I wonder if they took just the advanced part and forgot to take the first few courses (like turning on your monitor!) and then whine and complain and think the world is against them. I shudder to think what these people did 10 years ago…oh yeah…they had LIVES! I keep forgetting about that. Let’s powercycle…..ooohhhhmmmmmmmmmm…..
I’m trying to compile the local version of V6.0 of the Palace (5.0 is a “stepping stone” as it were), but just haven’t had much time to put it together, and I do want it to look good before throwing it on the internet. The logo and the graphics are updated a bit and seem more interesting. I’ll have a counter on it, and some better organized content (what a concept!). Who knows? Maybe it’ll generate more than 5 hits a month this time around! I know it gets more than that, but now I can at least see it. I think I need to learn more about computers, so I’m going to go back to schedule so I can pull myself in 4 directions rather than 3! Am I crazy? Maybe…but I will learn a few things in the process…..like what flavor coffee/soda goes with what mood *sheesh*. More later.
I just want to know one thing…when you’re working two jobs and you tell your manager that a condition of you working with them is that you have to leave at a certain time so as to not jeopardize your job, why do they just ignore this and keep you later anyways? Is this some twisted scheme to get you to work just for them??? My advice to anyone who falls in this trap is to just move your availability to an earlier hour and if they can’t handle it, there are other fish in the ocean! Next time my manager does this, we’re gonna have a nice LONG talk….I wonder if I can find my boiling oil vat….
It got busy at our center for no apparent reason other than the gremlins must be on the loose again. I went to try a new restaurant today, but they only serve dinners..must be my run of luck these days. I’m glad I’m done with work for the week and can get some relaxation done, oh, and get some groceries for the apartment too, since it’s getting kinda bare there. At least I can still watch “Big O” at night to relax – what a show! No updates for a couple days coming up since I’ll be offline, but I’ll have more to yack about later.
Well, another night at work, and another database bites the dust. It’s becoming a more and more common occurrance these days. Why is it one can work for one of THE most powerful companies in the world and they can’t even keep their databases online? I’m starting to wonder if all those people that said AOL was so reliable were actually doing more than just bragging. Then again, any internet service that requires you to install their software isn’t worth the powder to blow them to the next galaxy with!
What a way to end out my week at the convenience store job…organizing and storing a metric buttload of bottled, purified, and overpriced…WATER! Can someone tell me exactly what the huge fascination with this stuff is? It’s water! This is the stuff that’s been around a heck of a lot longer than any of us (unless you’re related to Dick Clark or Linda Carter and live forever). I think the store I work for now has enough to give everyone in the state of Colorado a refreshing hi-calonic! Oh, and I’ve stopped drinking soda at the store in favor of frozen juice drinks that are kinda good, and have some vitamins in them…I think my body may go into shock now from this *grin*. At least my week there is done and now I get to relax a bit.
I’m working on the new layout, and the fact that it looks like CRAP in Netscrape (not that I care, since Netscrape was bought out by A-O-Hell…gee can we say reformat your hard drive to get RID of it?). It’s best viewed in Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher, which most have unless you’ve been living under that pet rock in your room or something. I’ll be working on the redesigned layout for here offline until I get my own internet connection, so until then please bear with my site the way it is…it’ll be worth the wait…really. I’m sooo looking forward to my weekend when I can actually do things instead of almost getting there only to be derailed by some issue that comes up. The new “disclosure” page is up which explains what the links are on the left-hand side, so now there is a guide, so don’t come complaining that you can’t figure it out. I need to do a show and soon..my wardrobe is starting to collect dust, and I don’t need to remind you how hard dust is to get off of sequins….
