Well, I finally got my first call today – from one of the local fast food places wanting to do an interview for one of the manager spots that are open, so we’ll see how that goes. I just hope it’s not the only phone call I get….it would be nice to have a few options just in case. At least it’s a start for now.
My friend Neal started up a cool site called workorspoon.com, so I’m gonna link that on my site tonight as well over on my Portals page! Woo-hoo!
Yanno….the whole thought about moving to California is looking better and better all the time. I could stand living in a state where it never gets cold (if you live on the bottom end), doesn’t snow, and you can actually put your coat away for quite a long time (as long as it’s not raining). We’ll still have to see how things pan out between now and the time the ol’ tax refund arrives – which should be VERY soon as long as my former employer gets off it’s collective butt and gets them out in a timely manner. I got my final check direct deposited after all….I think it was that very bitchy letter I sent them that got their butt in gear.
I have my phone by the bed in anticipation of those morning calls, so we’ll have to see what happens next! I’m crossing my fingers for the best here.
Well, here’s to hoping tomorrow turns out some good vibrations – heaven knows I could use a few right about now. I’m doing some investigation into the difference between a policy and some allegations to see who is right and who is wrong. Yeah, it may be a fruitless search, but I’d rather know for sure than to admit defeat without covering all the bases.
This next month will prove many things, the least of which is my will and determination to make things work. We’ll either make things work here, or move and make them work there – one or the ‘tother. Either way I’ll be happy….although I’m still hoping that we end up moving…much closer to the sea! Wheeeee!
Today I sent off my resume to my friend in California, so perhaps something will turn up there. In the meantime, I’m still looking here in Denver – so long as AT&T doesn’t find a way of farking that up as well…..leave it to them, you know they will. Since tomorrow (now today) is Sunday, I don’t plan on hearing anything until Monday – but maybe something will happen, so I don’t want to count that out just yet. I’m working on a new idea for an article for my site, so be watching for that one…..now to just come up with a kitschy name for it and then go to town….I have so much yet to learn about web design. Most of it I do by “seat of the pants” learning.
At least I have a few friends here in town, so I don’t feel like a total outcast just yet, which is OK. I’m off to light a candle to my patron saint, Daria, so be at peace.
I just got a rather “interesting” E-mail today – if you want to call it that…..the people I used to work with are being barred from E-mailing me from work and watching them like hawks. Yanno….I’m so over this crap. When I worked there, we’d communicate all the time, and now they treat me like some outsider. Well, that’s fine….I don’t need their SH!T anyways, and they can all go piss off! I hope their happy in their own little hell.
Well, Echostar gave me the wonderful form-postcard – “Thanks for applying, but we can’t offer you a job right now” thing. So you screw up on one job and you’re branded as worthless forever – farking AT&T bastiches! I just hope something bites soon, as we can’t last forever on what is left in our funds. Saw LotR again tonight, and then saw a haunted bridge, which was pretty cool. I’m off to bed hoping my phone rings with good news in the morning.
I so love watching my kids’ faces light up on Christmas morning when they see the tree stuffed full of presents. I was lucky enough to get all the shopping done before getting the axe by AT&T Comcast, so at least they couldn’t destroy that part – even though they took great pride in attempting to shatter all my hopes. Today we’re gonna stuff ourselves with food, watch movies, and exchange gifts….truly a day to remember!
I so love holidays…especially the ones I don’t have to work. 🙂
Well, I had an interview with 7-11 today, but it kinda went iffy, so I’m not too sure about it. I put in at an Amoco station, which looks very promising, so I should know about that by next week. Echostar still has not called, but it hasn’t been 3-5 business days yet since last Thursday, so we’ll see what happens next. Maybe they’ll call tomorrow or something….that would make such a nice Christmas present….to be employed again and bringing in money.
Well…..I have a good feeling something will be known by week’s end, before Christmas. I have more than one lead going, so we’ll see. It’s kinda hard to know what to put on an app when you get screwed by the big bad Death Star, so I just put “company merger” and let them sort it out – most don’t even look anyways. Sounds better than any other answer I can think of.
Christmas is in 4 days, so I’m pretty stoked up about it. We’re going to spend the holiday at our friend Raphine’s place, so it’ll be like a little family get-together….watch movies, tear open presents – wheee! At least it’s a day I don’t have to worry about SC’s (not that it’s a problem since I’m currently out of work). Time to get some apple cider heating up!
Well, tomorrow I will know for sure about the place I applied at last week, but from what I’ve heard, they are hiring pretty much all the applicants, so that’s a good thing. The van is fixed (two sensors needed to be replaced – who’da thought?), so now I’m mobile again. Re-discovered an old kids’ short series – Chapi Chapo – which has the most addictive theme song you could ever imagine! Not bad for a show released in the SEVENTIES in France, and launched here in the 80’s! Went to my friend Chuck (the girl)’s place and we exchanged some gifts, which was cool. I got some originally decorated CD-R discs for use in copying music and such, so I was pretty stoked about that (I LOVE original presents!!!!!!!!!!). Next week is Christmas, so it’s time to break out the good cheer for my family and friends – YAY!
