OK….maybe a few things….particularly about series finales……
Well, the Original Series didn’t have one….so no sense worrying about that. Besides….Kirk thinks he’s timeless anyways, so what’s the point? (yes, I’m being sarky here).
Next Generation: GOOD EPISODE IMHO! I liked the whole Q throwing Picard around in time trying to see if he could figure out what was destroying humanity. Well played by all, and a nice serene ending to finish it out….riding into the sunset and all.
Deep Space Nine: Any parent should have been outraged by this ending! I mean, come on! Captain Sisko leaves his son, his new wife, and their unborn child to just go off and be with the prophets??? What kind of stellar dust was HE smoking? That just sucked huge rocks! It was great that the war was over and all, but they should have just left it right there, and maybe put in an afterthought about any further communication between Sisko and his “mother”….not just drag him off and leave everyone else home.
Voyager: Okay….someone take a baseball bat to the writers on this one! The biggest gripe I have about this episode is that they just found a way to get the rest of the way home AND deal a crippling blow to the Borg, and…..THEY JUST STOOD THERE…..STONEFACED! Did they all become vulcans? Come on……show some EMOTION that you made it home! That you didn’t fight all that way for nothing. Maybe Captain Janeway forgot her Klingon coffee that morning….or perhaps the whole crew did……I want a DO-OVER!
Enterprise: Rule #1 of Star Trek….don’t tinker with the timeline! You just don’t!
Flub #1: They introduce a “Next Gen” klingon, which would be hard to explain when in the original series (which this one supposedly took place BEFORE Kirk) and seeing how Klingons were portrayed then.
Flub #2: The Ferengi! Weren’t they FIRST introduced in Next Generation? A-HEM!
Flub #3: It’s hard to believe that the vulcans were that snot-faced before Spock. SHEESH!
If they introduce the Borg on Enterprise, I’m seriously boycotting the whole thing! And Keep Q away too! As a “stand-alone” series, it’s great….don’t get me wrong….but don’t call it a prequel to the original series….it DOESN’T WORK! Or if you must….then discount the entire original series and call it a prequel to Next Generation….that might make a tiny bit more sense……
….but then again, you’d have to re-do all those episodes referring to Kirk and….ahhhhh….forget I even thought it. How about a DS9 movie that does the ending the right way, or maybe a DS9/Voyager crossover movie?
I’m going back to watching my Battlestar Galactica episodes now….ssshhhh…..
