Finally! A break from the day-to-day routine of pacifying people on phones and seeing the same old same old. Yes, I definitely love Denver, but I’m looking forward to a break once in a while. Apparently, I’ll be hitting Montana just in time for the fair that goes through once a year with the HUGE carnival and concerts that are going on, so that should pretty much kick ass. They say the drive from Colorado to Montana would be splendid if you could just jump over Wyoming. I’m sure there are fascinating places to see and neat people there…..but it’s a long stretch to drive through. Cooler…must remember to bring cooler.
I’m starting on a new project now….designing a new outfit for next years PrideFest here in Denver, and finding a wig to go along with the new look. I’m hoping the hair will be like in the pic at the title page here, but with a different color. Maybe royal blue with white ends or something…..hmmm.. it’s possible, so who knows? I’m trying to do some Windows desktop customization, so that’s my new challenge to work out. I’ll have some scans of my desktop from time to time to show how it’s going.
This past weekend pretty much rocked (of course…I didn’t have to work!). Anyhoos…I went to a meeting for Nan Desu Kan here in Denver, and got some information on what’s going on this year at the new hotel, and also got back in touch with friends I had made from last year’s con, so that was a lot of fun. I’m thinking of new designs for my Mari fan club site since it’s time fo give the site a facelift once again and maybe reorganize it. Oh yeah….vacation in a couple of weeks! Yahoo!
OK….this is getting nuts here. I’m getting crappy “scores” at my job for “not being professional” when all I’m doing is lightening the mood in people’s dark days. People who care more about a process than fixing people’s problems really takes the grand taco, ya know? Making me more and more ready to delve through my schooling, get my certifications, and then ditching this dead-end job and getting something REAL! I’m going through a blue funk now (and the color is NOT web-safe), so watch out. I like my job…I just hate the people that nitpick me to death.
This job is NOT forever, so I’m looking forward to the next one….and may it be gentler on my soul. Time to go for a nice long walk and maybe a Frosty somewhere….mmmmmm…..oh yeah…crank up some Mari CD’s too…that always helps.
By this time, I hoped I would be wildly famous for making pretty cool webpages, but it seems people come by, say “oh…cool” and just walk away. I made a club site for about a couple of years that is starting to lose a lot of steam now since there is no new information coming in and most of what I post I get from other sites. Some people like the presentation, so maybe I’ll keep working on it, but my main focus is here. My PC is old, I never have extra ca$h….*sigh*…this is NOT the way I pictured my life going. I’m only hoping after I get out of school that maybe….MAYbe it’ll get better, but I’m not going to hold my breath on it. I need to start working on short stories and building up my own reputation rather than worry about people who really don’t need my help these days. I like people, but when you talk and talk and talk, and no one talks back…it’s kinda pointless if you know what I mean. I started a WebRing, so maybe that’s a step in the right direction. We’ll see how the drama unfolds.
There are never enough hours in the day to do what needs to be done, you know? I am seriously behind on doing my web pages, plus trying to go to work, school, and be with a family….it’s enough to make you want to pull your hair out! Nahhh…can’t do that. My friend Chris has made some T-shirts and mousepads that he’s selling through Cafepress, and they are really cool. Check out Fatal Error at http://www.fatalerror.cc for more details on this! Maybe someday I’ll have some for sale too….someday.
This week reminds me of that Cure song “Hot Hot Hot”…it’s been scorching here! Oh my goodness! Time for lots of tea and pool time – not just any tea though….RASPBERRY iced tea! I need to work on my other website something seriously, since it’s been an age since I last updated it. People I’ve shown the new version of this site to are impressed, so I know I’m on the right track. I’m still going by the standard I learned from XDude – you need good CONTENT before dressing it up! I think I’m going in a good direction here.
