I got my a nice comfy seat today!
No, it’s not for my office chair, or my home computer chair (heaven knows my flab takes care of that), but it’s for my widdle bike! Yay me! They make these nice air-cushioned wonders that makes for a nice SMOOTH ride for your sitting bones (I love the site I got that one from), but yes….they actually DO work! This summer I am committing myself to cycling to and from work as much as humanly possible, so as to try and work off some of this excess flabbiness and work on getting me back down to the low 200’s (or lower if possible). With my schedule, I ride during the day to work, and back at night, which is no biggie. I’ve ridden bikes at all hours of the day and night for years before we moved out of state, so this should be no different. I’m just a larger target for other vehicular idiots in the interim. As I lose weight, that target will start to shrink to a more manageable size!
I go down the sidewalks and roads, and notice that hardly anyone is walking or riding ON them! I guess that’s all good for the construction crews for the city, since they don’t have to re-do the concrete on those as often except for weather erosion, but I think it’s a little silly to hop in your favourite gas-guzzler to go TWO BLOCKS, don’t you? Granted, the size of the city block varies from city to city, but for around here, they’re not that big. Next time I go to the OC area, I’m going to try riding some of those beach paths – those looked OH so nice! When I was in Denver, they had this really cool bike path that went from our area of town all the way through downtown, and it was its own path, away from traffic! It was awesome! I think I may have to take my bike down there and do it again!
Trust me….comfy seats make ALL the difference most times 🙂
